Faux Vega's - Lightened Wood Look

The homeowner wanted these dark stained vega's lightened and kept looking like wood. She thought the dark color made them look heavy on the ceiling and they did.

Since there were two rooms with vega's, we did one room with a deeper finish on the vega's (two top images) and the other room with a lighter finish (bottom two images).

To get the new look in the second image, the dark stained wood had to be primed with a stain sealer first and then I used a special technique to keep that real wood log look.
