Faux Fire Place - Sedona Red Rock With Petroglyphs

This fireplace had a smooth finish and I added a one-of-a-kind texture to give it the appearance like the side of a mountain wall.

I applied a coat of drywall mud with sand mixed in and I used a rough surfaced rock to pound in the texture. I then applied several coats of color to obtain the look of a Sedona rock.

I created a homemade brush by tying a few thin weeds together and used it to paint the petroglyphs.
